The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Could Borrow a Page Out of iPhone 14 Pro’s Book as New Information Surfaces About the Upcoming Foldable

WccftechThe Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Z Fold 5 could release as early as July to rival the Google Pixel Fold. So far, the devices have shown great promise, making us believe that they might as well be the best foldable phones to come out later this year. The new information pertains to Samsung's more affordable Flip 5 and a feature that we first saw with the iPhone 14 Pro.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 could offer a similar Always on Display to the iPhone 14 Pro
For those who don't know, the iPhone 14 Pro series was the first to bring an AOD (Always On Display) and while the feature has been available on Samsung phones for ages, Apple's implementation is not only different but a bit more intuitive. Now, a tip from a renowned tipster suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also come with the same AOD implementation.
You can look at the tweet below.

Now, this AOD implementation looks good, and there is no doubt about that, but this concerns battery life. Samsung's default AOD completely turns off the pixels aside from the ones that are used to show the time and other information. Still, the AOD on Apple just dims the pixels, and honestly, that is not really a good approach because you end up losing battery life.
So, how will the Galaxy Z Flip 5 take care of it? There can be two ways, the outer screen, which is also getting an upgrade this year, could feature this type of AOD, and the inner screen could feature a normal AOD. Since the phone will most likely be folded when not used, it makes no sense to change the AOD on the internal screen because I don't know a single foldable user who keeps their phone unfolded at all times.
With that said, July isn't that far, so we will likely hear more about the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. We will keep you posted as we move closer to the release date and get more information on our hands.
