Back in March, I told you that Sonos is working on [a second-generation Move speaker](https://www.theverge.com/2023/3/23/23653411/sonos-move-2-bluetooth-speaker-exclusive-details-features) due for release this year. And now, as [spotted](https://sfba.social/@jank0/110515343881564660) by Janko Roettgers, the upcoming portable speaker has made its way [through the FCC](https://fccid.io/SBVRM044). The filing matches up with my earlier report and identifies the next Sonos hardware product as model S44.

The FCC documentation also confirms one key upgrade that I mentioned in March: the Move (Gen 2) will support Bluetooth and Wi-Fi at the same time instead of making you toggle between them like [the original speaker did](https://www.theverge.com/2019/9/18/20871409/sonos-move-wireless-bluetooth-speaker-review-alexa-google-assistant-wifi-price-specs-sound-quality) (via a switch on the back). Blue has been removed from Logitech's "brands" section on its website, and the Bluemic.com domain now directs to Logitech. Logitech already hinted that it might scuttle the Blue brand, having released the [Blue Sona streaming mic](https://www.engadget.com/logitech-litra-beam-key-light-blue-sona-microphone-160043897.html) under Logitech G late last year. It also changed its description of the Yeti mic a while back, describing it as the Yeti microphone with Blue VO!CE technology. 

Logitech [purchased Blue](https://www.engadget.com/2018-07-30-blue-logitech-acquisition.html) in 2018 for $117 million. However, Blue Microphones has a history beyond what you may expect, having originally created the "Bottle" microphone before ever developing any streaming products (Blue also stands for "Baltic Latvian Universal Electronics," according to [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Microphones)). Given that the Blue brand is highly respected in podcasting, streaming and other areas, it seems an odd choice to kill it off in favor of its own brand, which has far less cachet. The company is promising a "deeper integration" with all its Logitech G products, promising that you'll be able to configure them "all in one place," presumably its G HUB app. If that's the plan, then Logitech may need to address criticism with that app, if the [comments on its Reddit FAQ post](https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/144htiu/an_update_from_logitech_g/?sf178951114=1) are anything to go by.

Here's what you need to know about what's changing and being enhanced with the set-top box.

**Revamped Control Center:** The new Control Center focuses on making things easier. From there, you can see the system status, the current time, and the active profile. It also makes connecting your Bluetooth devices (such as AirPods) easier or checking your Home accessories.

**Find My Remote:** Another feature users have been asking for ages is the ability to find the Siri Remote using the iPhone. Although Apple didn't add the U1 chip to the accessory, it offers a tweaked Find My Siri Remote for 2nd generation or later controllers. As users get closer to the remote, an onscreen circle grows in size to guide their movement.

Developers can use Continuity Camera APIs on Apple TV 4K to integrate the iPhone or iPad camera and microphone into their tvOS app.

**Apple Music Sing:** This feature will also integrate Continuity Camera so users can see themselves onscreen and add entertaining filters while singing.

**Dolby Vision 8.1 support** offers Apple TV 4K users a more cinematic visual experience with dynamic metadata over a broader range of movies and TV shows.

**Apple Fitness+** enhancements, including **Custom Plans**, a new way for Fitness+ users to receive a custom workout or meditation schedule based on day, duration, workout type, and more; **Stacks**, which allows users to select multiple workouts and meditations to seamlessly do back to back; and **Audio Focus**, which gives users the ability to prioritize the volume of the music or the trainers’ voices.

**Third-party VPN support** enables developers to create VPN apps for Apple TV. This can benefit enterprise and education users wanting to access content on their private networks, allowing Apple TV to be a great office and conference room solution in even more places.

This week, we learn what it's like to wear and use Apple's Vision Pro headset. Also, we round up the rest of the news from WWDC.

Objects in Apple’s Vision Are Closer Than They Appear

The [Apple Vision Pro](https://wccftech.com/apple-vision-pro-is-the-ar-headset-from-the-company/) is still six months away, meaning that there could be slight changes done to the hardware. This would be one reason why the company did not dive extensively into the AR headset’s specifications, so it would be easy for readers to ignore the refresh rate of the device. However, during one presentation, there was a small but important tidbit that some of you may have ignored, but it highlights the refresh rate of the product, and before you ask, no, the displays do not support ProMotion technology, which operates at 120Hz.

While we know that the Apple Vision Pro features two 4K microLED panels, each sporting a resolution of 23 million pixels, the marketing material has left out the term ProMotion. Thankfully, [9to5Mac](https://9to5mac.com/2023/06/08/apple-vision-pro-display-refresh-rate/) noticed that in the [‘Optimize app power and performance for spatial reality’](https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10100/) session, the display rate is ‘usually 90 frames per second.’ This little bit of information suggests that the Apple Vision Pro’s refresh rate is 90Hz. However, there is an extra bit of detail that you will enjoy reading about.

When viewing movies or motion-based content at 24FPS, the refresh rate will increase to 96Hz. Even though it is not much, the extra speed would reduce the ‘stuttery’ effects of watching movies at 24FPS that would otherwise be experienced if both displays were operating at 90Hz. 9to5Mac also cleverly notes that 24FPS does divide equally into 90Hz, but it does with 96Hz, which is why Apple may have slightly increased that refresh rate.

As for why the refresh rate does not match the company’s other products that rely on ProMotion technology, it could be to keep the battery life as optimized as possible, even though that runtime is not nearly as long as one would hope, thanks to the [measly 6,500mAh battery](https://wccftech.com/apple-vision-pro-small-battery-life-low-due-to-reduced-capacity/). Secondly, increasing the maximum supported refresh rate may cause motion sickness, although there are other headsets that support a refresh rate of 144Hz.

However, those devices do not provide the same resolution or employ the same display technology, so that is also something to keep in mind. We will see if, six months from now, the Apple Vision Pro supports the same specifications, and as always, we will update our readers accordingly.
