RavPower’s new 100W dual USB-C GaN charger is the company’s smallest and lightest 100W charger to date. It has the ability to charge two devices at once at a max of 100W, which makes it an excellent one-and-done charger for your laptop bag. It’s my new favorite travel companion.
At CES 2019, I won a 63-watt, dual-port GaN charger at the Aukey booth. It was smaller, lighter, and more powerful than the brick I was carrying at the time. Today, RavPower’s PC151 charger is smaller, lighter, and even more powerful than that Aukey brick. It’s pretty impressive how rapidly charging tech is moving at this point.
To put it into perspective, that Aukey brick could charge my Surface Laptop 3 at 60W, but if I also used it to juice up my phone, the speed dropped to somewhere around the minimum my SL3 can take while still technically charging. With RavPower’s PC151 brick, I can charge my SL3 and phone at the maximum speeds and still have room to spare in the charger’s 100W capacity.

In fact, I could probably share this charger with another laptop and get sufficient juice to charge both simultaneously. That not only makes it a great brick for me when I travel but also a solid choice for me and the squad when we hit trade shows or other events (which are finally starting to come back). The only issue I see is if I’m trying to share with a power-hungry laptop like a MacBook Pro, which will pull more juice from the charger, leaving the other laptop potentially without enough juice to properly charge.
Otherwise, you’ll find this charger to have most of the features you’d expect to see in a modern aftermarket charger, like foldable prongs. You’d think that would be a give on all chargers at this point, but I still get boxes with non-folding chargers all the time. It blows my mind.

So yeah, I highly recommend the RavPower PC151. The only issue? RavPower got booted from Amazon a while back, so you can’t buy it from there. Pair that with the fact that it’s sold out on RavPower’s site at the time of writing and, well, you see the issue. It’s a charger you want or need but can’t buy right now. RavPower tells me that it should be back in stock around mid-September, so keep that in mind if you’re looking to pick one up.
