Liteboxer’s Guided At-Home Workouts Are Coming to VR

We’re big fans of Liteboxer, a home fitness brand that offers guided workouts using full-body tracking equipment. But Liteboxer ain’t cheap, and you can’t exactly take its home gym equipment on vacation. That’s why the company is preparing to launch Liteboxer VR, a guided workout service for the Meta Quest 2 (formerly Oculus Quest 2).

Liteboxer VR is a virtual world that recreates the original Liteboxer experience. A trainer guides you as you punch a floating pad, which lights up to indicate where your punches should land. And unlike other VR boxing apps, Liteboxer VR can track your hand movements even if you decide to ditch the Meta Quest 2 controllers.

Of course, Liteboxer VR takes a few cues from other VR workout apps. Music from artists like Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, and Bon Jovi accompany your workouts, and a leader-board system lets you compete with friends and strangers.

Liteboxer VR launches March 3rd and costs just $18.99 a month after a 7-day free trial. That’s the same price as Supernatural, a rival VR workout service. Of course, you need a Meta Quest 2 headset if you want to enjoy either of these services.

While $18.99 a month may seem like a lot of money, it’s less than a gym membership. It’s also way cheaper than buying Liteboxer’s real-world hardware, though of course, the cost of your Liteboxer VR subscription will add up if you stick with it for a few years.
