Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 Screen Sizes and Weight Leak, Showing Little to No Change to Phones’ Overall Design

We have been hearing a lot about Samsung's upcoming foldable duo the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. So far, we have seen it all except the renders of the devices and if all goes accordingly, we will be seeing those, too. So far, the information proves that these new devices will be minor step up from the previous generation foldable phones in terms of design but will pack significant improvements in terms of the structural design and the latest tip gives a bit more weight to the past rumor.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 might not be for those who are looking for a drastic upgrade

Based on a tip from reliable tipster Ice Universe, we now know the size and the weight of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and honestly, it might disappoint some users.

You can have a look at the tweet below.

Flip5 3.4/6.7 187g
Fold5 6.2/7.6 254g

As you can see, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is said to have a 3.4-inch external display and a 6.7-inch internal display. This is conflicting from yesterday's report that suggested that the external display is going to be 3.8-inch. As for the weight, the phone is 187 grams, which is the same as the weight found on the last year's Flip 4.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5, on the other hand, is said to have a 6.2-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal display, the dimensions are the same as last year's device, but the weight is 254 grams, which is 9 grams lighter than the Fold 4. We did hear that Samsung is trying to bring it down to 250 grams but if this leak is anything to go by, it seems we would be stuck with a slightly lighter phone than last year's offering.

With that said, Ice Universe also claims that dimensions of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 are almost identical to the dimensions of last year's device. However, the biggest difference this year is the use of waterdrop hinge, which will allow the phone to fold completely flat and appear thinner, as well.

Whatever the case might be, we will have to wait for August/September for these devices to go official but we can expect them to leak months ahead of their official release date. We will keep you posted as we hear more about the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the alleged Galaxy Z Tab. Let's see what Samsung is going to show us this year.
